Dubai World Cup
again and again a great event

In the seventh year of the Dubai World Cup home-bred Street Cry produced a superb turn of foot to win the $ 6 million Dubai World Cup horse race in front of a packed crowd at Nad Al Sheba. Ridden by Jerry Baily the win gave Godolphin trainer Saeed bin Suroor his third win in the worlds richest race with the jockey landing his fourth title. Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai Sheik Maktoum bin Rashid Al Maktoum lifted the World Cup trophy with General Sheik Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai and UAE Defence Minister.

The Cup is the result of the vision of Sheikh Mohammed, whose passion for horse racing ignited the idea of posing the ultimate challenge for champions from all parts of the globe. A total of 25 countries have been represented for the Olympic Games of Horse Racing. More than 40.000 visitors have been presented and like last years it was a great event, special the opening ceremony and the impressive Royal Hat Competition of ladies from many countries.
